Doors Open Perth ~ Saturday June 9th
Friends of the Tay Events

This year's edition of "Doors Open" in Perth will include the Perth basin, kicking off the Town's 2007 celebration of the Rideau Canal's 175th Anniversary. The Perth basin will host a range of interesting and entertaining events, including several presented by the Friends of the Tay Watershed - and you are invited to come down and take part.

The 'Friends' will be presenting:

• a canoe tour of the Tay River on the 34' voyageur canoes, guided by Rideau Roundtable wildlife experts (a small charge - reserve ahead at the Friends' booth - departure at 2:00pm)
• rope making and a lot of fun with the 'Kettle Boys' entertainment booth
• a display of the latest developments in the historic Perth Tay Trail and its heritage signs
• our new information booth, with educational materials on the watershed and its resources.

Some of the other attractions at the basin, on Saturday, will be - the Craft Market, Parks Canada's 175th Anniversary information trailer, a Rideau Trail display, a selection of classic wooden boats, a paddlemaker, and blacksmith - and, at 11:00, Perth's Town Crier!
