Canada 150 Four Winds Canoe Brigade Passes Through Beveridge Locks and Perth
June 26, 2017

On June 26, 14 Voyageur Canoes, with 130 paddlers, arrived at Beveridge Locks, and Perth, enroute to a rendezvous in Ottawa on Canada Day of the 'Four Winds Brigade'. This Rideau contingent, the 'South Wind Brigade', launched at Kingston on June 24, for the eight day paddle over the 202 km Rideau Canal. At Victoria Island, they will meet the other three brigades - coming down the Gatineau, and from both directions on the Ottawa River - for an historic Canada 150th event. The following photos were taken as they passed through the Beveridge Locks, welcomed by the Drummond/North Elmsley's Reeve and Deputy Reeve, heading for an evening reception at Perth Palace.

Shown below are some of the pictures taken of this event.
