The Annual General Meeting of Bedford Mining Alert will be held on Saturday, July 26. 2008, from 10:00 until noon at the Glendower Hall, 1381 Westport Road in Bedford District, Township of South Frontenac. We will provide an update of the key issues facing BMA, our accomplishments over the past year, and our goals and plans for the upcoming year.
Recently Premier McGuinty announced that a complete review of Ontario’s Mining Act will be undertaken. Public input to the process is very important if we are to achieve our goals and objectives for constructive change to the Mining Act. We will address this very important subject matter. Guest speakers are; Don Ross, Executive Director of the Frontenac Arch Biosphere Reserve, Randy Hillier, Progressive Conservative MPP for the riding of Lanark-Frontenac - Lennox and Addington and Peter Tabuns, NDP MPP for the riding of Toronto Danforth. There will be ample time for questions and answers.
